This class will be an introductory survey of the Middle Ages and Early Modern World from the time of Constantine through the 18th Century. We will focus on connecting events and ideas to people and on making connections concerning cause and effect of human activity and relationships throughout the relevant time periods. Large-scale topics include the Fall of Western Rome, Formation of Medieval Europe, Rise of Islam, Crusades, Late Medieval Period, Renaissance and Reformation, formation of the Early Modern World through the 1800s. 

This class aims to familiarize students with the figures and events of the Medieval and Early Modern Eras of history. They will also learn to develop critical thinking skills to make cause and effect connections concerning historical interpretation.   

This class meets on Tuesdays at 2 pm, Eastern Standard Time.
